Civil Society Charter Of Youth Rights
WHAT ARE
YOUTH RIGHTS ?
Youth rights are essentially Human Rights that recognise youth-hood as a unique stage in Human life. The Human Right to life, to freedom, to equality and livelihood need to be contextualised for young people.
WHY DO WE NEED
YOUTH RIGHTS?
While the Fundamental Rights in the Indian Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights include young people, given the large demographic shift in India and across the world, it is now increasingly necessary to look at youth as a special category of citizenry whose needs are different and need to be articulated as such.
